WWF Superstars Of Wrestling Compilation Tape:
Random Episodes from December 1988-November 1989.

- December 3rd, 1988 Superstars Of Wrestling:

- As usual, the hosts of Superstars are Vince McMahon & Jesse "The Body Ventura. They run down who will be on the show this week, including "Ravishing" Rick Rude, The Hart Foundation, Akeem, and Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. We cut immediately to ringside for the first match of the show.

- Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake vs. Chuck Campbell:
We are only a week removed from the 1988 edition of the Survivor Series, and so it's time to finish up and start storylines for Wrestlemania V. Beefcake has his black & white zebra tights that he would take out of his closet for his "Zodiac" gimmick in WCW about seven years later. Campbell is a pretty fat jobber who no one would confuse with being a star. We get an Insert Promo from "Outlaw" Ron Bass, who has issues with Beefcake still. Lockup and Campbell rakes the eyes. Irish whip and Beefcake with a boot to the midsection and forearm across the neck. Delayed scoop slam by Beefcake followed by a neck jerk between the legs. Beefcake hammers Campbell, whips him to the ropes, and applies the Sleeper Hold for the submission win at 2:08. 1/4* After the match Beefcake does a hack job haircut on Campbell and beats on him a little more.

- From the pages of WWF Magazine, it's a special Update with "Mean" Gene Okerlund. We get more enhancment for the Roberts/Andre feud, as we join a Randy Savage vs. Andre The Giant match from SNME in progress. Basically it's shots of Roberts at ringside hiding the snake under the ring. Heenan gets it, but Roberts comes back and attacks, and the match is thrown out. Savage sends Heenan into Andre, getting him caught in the ropes, and Roberts teases to release the snake, but Andre gets free in the knick of time. We cut to a blue screen promo from Bobby & Andre, who challenge Roberts to step in the ring with the giant.

- "Canada's Strongest Man" Dino Bravo (w/ Frenchy Martin) vs. Rikki Ataki:
Frenchy Martin cuts a promo in French before the match starts, and Ventura's translation is Bravo hates wrestling american scum. I don't get the point of the match then because Ataki is announced from Tokyo, Japan. Logic In...oh the hell with it. Lockup and Bravo with a standing side headlock followed by a shoulder block. Lockup #2 and Bravo with a hammerlock takeover. Stomps to the midsection of Ataki and Bravo with a big boot. Vertical suplex connects followed by a high elevation elbow drop. Irish whip and Bravo with an air plane spin followed by the side suplex for three at 1:33. 1/2* Ventura dubs the move "The Americans Slam" because Bravo uses it to slam Americans like Ataki.

- Pay Per View Promo for the Royal Rumble, the first ever PPV telecast of the event. We get a brief clip of Hogan and Akeem, and then go to a graphic of shadow fighters tumbling. January 15th, 1989 is the date. Call your Cable Cmpany today!

- Harley Race vs. Jim Gorman:
This is Race's big RETURN to WWF action (on Superstars of Wrestling at least) and he's no longer the King, yet still has the tights with a crown on his butt. McMahon speculates if there will be tension on the Heenan family because of this, and we get an Insert Promo from King Haku. Lockup and Race with a knee lift followed by a belly-to-belly suplex. Knee drop across the forehead and Race sends Gorman into the turnbuckle. Irish whip to the corner followed by a clothesline. Race with a series of elbow drops and knees to the face. Piledriver connects and Race finishes him off with a fisher-man suplex at 1:45. * Race looked like he could still go here, but his health would act up again soon after.

- Time for the Event Center with Sean Mooney. We get an Interview with "Dangerous" Danny Davis & Jimmy Hart, saying Davis would have a career year in 1989 and was going to bring in someone to train him because the Hart Foundation taught him nothing. We then go to a Tito Santana interview and he issues an open challenge (but directs it towards Greg Valentine) and kisses the preverbial ass of the fans. More pimpage by Mooney and we go back to the action.

- Commercial for The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) featuring Tito Santana footage narrated by Sean Mooney. Pretty corny, but I never get tired of the "Now You're Playing With Power!" slogan.

- The Hart Foundation vs. Barry Horowitz & "Iron" Mike Sharpe:
It's the All-Star Jobbers, and $20 says they get their asses handed to them. Niedhart & Sharpe start the match with a lockup. Sharpe tries a slam by Anvil won't budge, and slams Sharpe in retaliation. Sharpe rakes the eyes and hammers away on Anvil. Irish whip is reversed and Anvil catches Sharpe with a roundhouse right. Horowitz tags in and is tossed across the ring and Bret tags in. Dropkick sends Horowitz outside and the Foundation pose. Back inside and Hart with a headbutt and rams Horowitz into the turnbuckle. Irish whip is reversed to the corner but Bret with a boot to the face. Insert Promo by Jimmy Hart and he drops the bombshell of The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers moving to NASHVILLE! McMahon could care less. The Hart Attack connects soon after and Bret covers Horowitz for three at 2:11. *1/4 After the match we get inoffensive celebrating.

- Back to the Event Center with Sean Mooney. Interview from The Blue Blazer, a new comer to the World Wrestling Federation. He cuts a VERY hilarious promo, ending sentences in rhyme with whatever ends with "-azer". We then cut to a promo from the Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard), two other new-comers, along with their manager Bobby Heenan. Nothing special mentioned, except they are going to the top.

- The Bushwackers Vignette with "Mean" Gene Okerlund. They ramble a lot at the camera and eat a lot of sardines. Okerlund makes fun of their breath. God, I hated these guys, even as a dumb mark.

- Akeem (w/ Slick) vs. Louie Spicolli:
Akeem REALLY can't dance, like it's a surprise or something. Still, always marked for him despite lack of talent. Spicolli has to be about 19 or 20 here, as he was pretty young when he died 10 years later. They lockup and Akeem hammers Spicolli with rights. Irish whip and Akeem with a back body drop. More hammering by Akeem followed by a front face suplex for a fake two count. Akeem quickly connects with the Air Africa/747 Splash for three at 1:22. DUD Akeem & Slick celebrate with some whacky dancing.

- The Brother Love Show:
(Featured Guests: "Macho Man" Randy Savage & Elizabeth)

Love comes out mad mouthing the babyfaces as usual, and we get clips from last week when Jack Tunney was on the show. Bad News Brown ended up punking him about by choking him. Brown insits Elizabeth had been doing...favors, to keep Savage on top. Savage comes out and pulls a Bad News and punks out Brother Love from the stage and throws a challenge towards Bad News Brown. Nothing special here unless a beat-down occurs.

- "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Nito Gomez:
Rude goes threw the normal pre-match activities (insulting the crowd and taking off his robe for the ladies). Insert Promo from....Rick Rude, who is pimping a poster of himself as well as his "Simply Ravishing" T-Shirt. Rude hammers away on Gomez and slams him down. Snampare followed by a boot to the face. Rude with a snap-suplex followed by a stomach buster. Irish whip to the corner and Rude connects with the Rude Awakening for the win at 1:27. 1/4* After the match Heenan brings in some chick (not attractive looking either) to get the other Rude Awakening. I never really cared for this part of his gimmick, since it took away from actual wrestling.

- More from The Event Center. Dibiase with a promo, and he throws some insults towards Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and Hercules (Dibiase's ex-slave for a cup of coffee). Jim Duggan promo follows, and there is no way I'm going to listen to this nutcase. Mooney babbles some more about Duggan being a Real American, and then we go to a commercial break.

- October 21st, 1989 Superstars Of Wrestling:

- As usual, the hosts of Superstars are Vince McMahon & Jesse "The Body Ventura. This week highlights from Saturday Night's Main Event's Million Dollar Match between Hulk Hogan & Ted Dibiase. In action this week, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, Mr. Perfect, The Brother Love Show with Dusty Rhodes, also in Action The Brain Busters, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin, and more!

- "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka vs. Al Burke:
Only a month away from The Survivor Series and Snuka will be apart of Roddy's Rowdies vs. The Rude Brood. They lockup and Snuka with a series of knee lifts. Irish whip to the ropes and he connects with a cop. Burke is rammed into the turnbuckle and Snuka kicks him down. The jobber exchanges WEAK (and I do mean weak) blows with Snuka but is put back down with a headbutt. Irish whip by Snuka and he plants a boot in Burke's stomach. More chopping followed by kicks to the head. Snuka chokes Burke across the top rope as he cuts his own Insert Promo on Mr. Perfect. Scoop slam followed by a knee drop by Snuka, and he puts Burke away with the Superfly Splash at 2:16. 1/2* No after match beatings sadly.

- Courtesy of WWF Magazine, it's time for a WWF Update with "Mean" Gene Okerlund. We go back to Saturday Night's Main Event J.I.P between Tito Santana & Rick Martel. Nearing the end as both men have their Survivor Series teams with them. About a minute later Boss Man gets into the match to cause a DQ, and Rhodes follows. Seconds later and everyone brawls with the faces winning.

- The Brain Busters (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Tim Horner & Warren Bianchi:
For those NWA marks out there, Tim Horner has had several (very good) battles with Tully & Arn so this match might be good considering the circumstances. Tully & Horner start the match. Horner with a side headlock takeover and Tully reverses with a head scissors. Repeat the spot again. They lockup and Horner with a wrist lock. Blanchard reverses and applies a headlock. Horner with a head scissors. Blanchard with a pin attempt on a suplex but Horner bridges up and scores a back slide for a two count. Anderson tags in and Horner hammers on him with rights. Irish whip to the corner is reversed and Horner comes off the second rope with a twisting cross body press, but Anderson reverses for two. Horner applies a wrist lock and tags in the Jobber (cue ominous music) and Anderson catches him with a knee lift. Irish whip and Anderson plants Bianchi with a spinebuster. Knee drop connects and Tully tags in with stomps to the head. Tully rakes the eyes of Bianchi with the laces of his boot and whips him into an Anderson boot. Arn chokes him across the top rope and Tully continues the beating. Anderson irish whips Bianchi and Blanchard connects with a dropkick. Blanchard makes fun of Horner's mom (or whatever to piss him off) and the Busters plant Bianchi with the Spike Piledriver behind the referees back. That's enough for the pin at 3:15. ** Decent contest, thanks to Horner getting some offense in on the Busters, and because Arn & Tully were no slouches in the ring.

- Time for the Event Center with Sean Mooney to pimp a upcoming House Show on November 19th. We get a promo by "Ravishing" Rick Rude & Bobby Heenan who plan to put Piper out of action in their lumberjack match. Then we go to Santana to bad mouth Haku in the battle of Mexico vs. Samoa to see which minority is the darkest besides black people.

- More highlights from Saturday Night's Main Event, and it's from the Hulk Hogan vs. Ted Dibiase. Pretty long highlight considering it's 3:00+ for the actual match. Short and sweet, Zeus pretty much costs Dibiase the match when Hogan surprises him with a small package. After the match Dibiase & Zeus lay the smack down on Hogan until Jake Roberts comes out to clear the ring with his Snake. We get promos from The Million Dollar Team & The Hulkamaniacs for Survivor Series 1989.

- "Canada's Strongest Man" Dino Bravo (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. Jim Evans:
Before the match Dino Bravo does push-ups with Jimmy Hart sitting on his back, but McMahon isn't too impressed. Bravo starts the match with an armbar but Evans reverses. Bravo kills him with a short arm clothesline and connects with a high elevation elbow drop. Inverted atomic drop by Bravo and we get an insert promo by Bravo mad-mouthing Warrior & Niedhart. Back suplex by Bravo and he puts Evans away with the Side Suplex at 0:55. 1/2* Quick and painless for a squash match.

- The Brother Love Show:
(Featured Guest: "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes)

No thanks here, but this is still the Dream period where he's carrying around Boss Man's nightstick, cuffs and cap, which makes him look like some gay stripper. Love keeps calling Dusty Brother Dream, which gets annoying fast. Rhodes cuts a promo on The Big Boss Man and...that's the only thing interesting.

- "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Bill Woods:
Normal Rude intro. Rude rakes the eyes of Woods and slams him down. Rude stalls and slams him again. Rude stomps the hand of Woods and connects with two snap suplexes. We get an insert promo from "Rowdy" Roddy Piper talking about nothing. Rude with a reverse chinlock followed by forearms across the chest. Irish whip to the corner and Woods connects with a cross body press for two. Rude hammers Woods and quickly disposes of him with the Rude Awakening at 1:27. DUD After the match Rude brings in a chick for the other Rude Awakening, but declines because she's ugly. At least he had brains.

- "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin vs. Craig Green:
They lockup into the ropes and Garvin breaks clean. A second lockup and Garvin with an armbar followed into a wristlock. Garvin slaps Green across the chest and rams him into the buckle. We get an Insert Promo from Greg Valentine who is happy Garvin is back in action so he can break his legs. Garvin with an Irish whip and follows with a back drop. Garvin Stomp a.k.a The Worlds Worst Set-Up Move followed by the "Reverse Figure-Four" gets the submission win at 1:53. DUD Too boring for a squash match.

- Paul Roma vs. Mr. Perfect (w/ The Genius):
Roma is still pretty much a jobber, but he's important enough to list first. Genius cuts some poetry to introduce Mr. Perfect, and what the hells up with the theme music? I'm glad they stuck with the good one that was used for pretty much 95% of his WWF career. And even worse is his choice of colors for his ring attire. Powder Blue with Pink! They lockup and Roma shoves Perfect off. Perfect with a go behind and Roma elbows free. Perfect with a scoop slam and Roma mule kicks him away. Roma with a slam and Perfect does the same. Roma hammers away on Perfect with roundhouse rights. Perfect hammers back and plants a boot in Roma's midsection followed by a knee lift. Roma catches Perfect with an inverted atomic drop followed by a running powerslam. Missile dropkick connects and Roma whips Perfect to the corner. Perfect catches Roma with a clothesline on the way in and finishes him off with the Perfect-Plex at 2:18. *1/2 Decent for such a quick match, but full of action.

- Event Center with Sean Mooney one more time. Honky Tonk Man & Jimmy Hart cut a promo on THE RED ROOSTER of all people. How the mighty have fallen. Dusty Rhodes with another chance to bad mouth Slick & Big Boss Man, and Mooney runs down the card for November 19th, including The Bushwackers vs. The Bolsheviks, Red Rooster vs. Honky Tonk Man, Tito Santana vs. Haku, Demolition vs. Powers Of Pain, Dusty Rhodes vs. Big Boss Man, and Roddy Piper vs. Rick Rude in a Lumberjack Match.

- Next Week In Action....Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Dino Bravo, The Rockers, Haku & Andre The Giant, and The Brother Love Show with Roddy's Rowdies.

- October 28th, 1989 Superstars Of Wrestling:

- As usual, the hosts of Superstars are Vince McMahon & Jesse "The Body Ventura. This week on the Brother Love show will be Roddy's Rowdies. In Action this week will be The Colossal Connection (Haku & Andre The Giant), The Rockers, Dino Bravo, Jake "The Snake" Roberts and more!

- The Rockers vs. Mike Scarberry & Ken Arnold:
I have no clue which jobber is which since both have beer bellies and long platinum blonde hair. Marty Jannetty (and to a degree, Shawn Michaels) has always been a guilty favorite of mine, so I'll be a bit nicer. Bobby Heenan with an insert promo for Survivor Series. Michaels starts the match Scarberry. They lockup and The jobber with weak blows. Irish whip and Michaels with a knee lift. Jannetty with a knee lift of his own and The Rockers with simultanious dropkicks. Irish whip and Jannetty press slams Michaels onto the jobbers in a cool move. Jannetty gets worked over in the corner briefly but easily comes back with rights. Wristlock applied and The Rockers with a double back elbow. Michaels in with a back breaker to Arnold followed by a reverse crescent kick. Irish whip again and he connects with another knee lift. Jannetty tags in and boots Arnold in the midsection. Snapmare and Jannetty applies a reverse chinlock. Irish whip and Jannetty connects with a powerslam. Tag to Michaels and they come off opposite corners with a double fist drop for the three count at 3:46. *1/4 Pretty long Squash, but nothing bad or anything. Rockers allowed too much offense (HA! I know that sounds wrong but it's true).

- From the pages of WWF Magazine is the Update with "Mean" Gene Okerlund. Like last week, we get clips from Hogan/Dibiase from Saturday Night's Main Event. After the match Zeus attacked Hogan and Dibiase put him down with the Million Dollar Dream. Roberts ends up making the save with Damion and the crowd eats it up with a spoon.

- The Widow Maker vs. Jim McPhearson:
The Widow Maker is of course Barry Windham. This would be BEFORE Vince got pissy at Steamboat by pretending Barry Windham didn't exist in the mid 80's and had commentators pretend he was some new guy. Someone f*cked up here though because even though the announcers pretend he isn't Windham, the WWF released Trading Card sets, and it identifies Windham by name on his. Stupid McMahon. Windham really has no real gimmick here except for the fact he slicks his hair back into a ponytail. Anyway, this rant is going longer than the match. Widow Maker with several arm drags and applies a headlock take over. McPhearson with a head scissors to escape. Widow Maker hammers on J.M. with roundhouse rights and connects with an inverted atomic drop. The float-over super-plex follows soon after and Widow Maker is the winner at 1:54. * Sue me, I'm a Windham mark.

- "The Mighty" Hercules vs. Joe Cruz:
The Jobber is afraid of Hercules so Herc. slingshots him in from the apron. Hercules blocks several rights and connects with an atomic drop followed by a clothesline sending Cruz out of the ring via the top rope. Back inside and weak jobber offense. Hercules kills Cruz with a clothesline and connects with a powerslam. Vertical suplex by Hercules and he finishes Cruz off with the Torture Rack (called the back breaker?) at 2:07. 1/4* A little too long for my squashes.

- "Live" from the Event Center is Sean Mooney to continue pimping the November 19th show that never happend according to a certain website with house show results from the last 40 years. We get blue-screen promos from The Big Boss Man & Slick (targeted at Dusty Rhodes) followed by one from The Red Rooster (his opponent is Honky Tonk Man). Rooster doing a rooster call just...makes me cry at how WWF ruined Terry Taylor's career with this shitty gimmick.

- The Colossal Connection (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Mike Williams & Chuck Casey:
This would mark the final stage of Andre The Giant's wrestling career (in WWF at least) as he's pretty much broken down to the point he can barely walk to the ring without having to lean on Heenan & Haku. Haku & Casey start the match with a lockup. Elbow to the midsection by Haku followed by chops and a headbutt. In the meantime, The Brain Busters come out to add support. Irish whip by Haku and he connects with a back elbow followed by a rake of the eyes. Haku plants Casey with three back breakers followed by a reverse crescent kick. Williams tags in with some weak offense but is kill with a S-T-I-F-F dropkick by Haku. Haku with an inverted atomic drop and Andre tags in. He headbutts Williams to Hades and knocks Casey out with a roundhouse right. Haku nails Williams with a superkick and Andre drops an elbow for three at 2:52. 1/2* Decent enough. Weird seeing Andre wrestle on the syndicated television shows.

- Promo for the 1989 Survivor Series is shown, and we get a promo from The Hulkamaniacs, which consists of Hulk Hogan (of course), Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and Ax and Smash of Demolition. Paint by Numbers promo on the Million Dollar Team here.

- "Canada's Strongest Man" Dino Bravo (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. Mark Regan:
Why are all these show I have featuring Dino Bravo on them?! Bravo like last time does push-ups with Jimmy Hart on his back. The two lockup and Bravo hammers on Regan with forearms. Side headlock applied and the jobber gets fancy with the escape so Bravo makes him part of the canvas with a clothesline. Irish whip and Bravo connects with a back breaker. Inverted atomic drop connects as we get an Insert Promo from Dino Bravo who targets the Ultimate Warrior again. Irish whip and Bravo with a big boot followed by the Side Slam. Bravo refuses to pin Regan and puts him out of his missery with a vicious bearhug at 1:49. 3/4* After the match Regan is stretchered out of the ring.

- The Brother Love Show:
(Featured Guests: Roddy's Rowdies)

Roddy's Rowdies consists of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, and The Bushwackers Butch & Luke. This segment is the key to racial insults as we've got two sardine eating morons, a whacked out Samoan, and a man who wears a skirt. Love thinks they have no chance at Survivor Series, so Piper bugs out on him. WE WANT A HEEL ON THE BROTHER LOVE SHOW DAMN IT!

- Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. Barry Hardy:
Hardy attacks Roberts from behind, so Jake charges out of the corner with a clothesline. Jake tosses the jobber over the top rope to the outside and we get an Insert Promo from Ted Dibiase, who brags about putting Roberts out of action earlier in 1989. Back inside the ring and Roberts with a scoop slam followed by a rake of the eyes with his boot. Roberts with the short-arm clothesline and he signals for the end. The DDT connects and Roberts scores an easy pinfall at 1:18. 1/4* After the match Barry Hardy gets the Damion Effect courtesy of Jake "The Snake" Roberts.

- Mr. Perfect Vignette!!! This time he's playing table tennis (a.k.a ping pong) and The Genius is the man keeping score of course. Mr. Perfect shows off with spiked shots on his opponent and switches between left handed and right handed in between an ass kicking. The Genius is incredibly funny when he announces Perfect's score and the opponent's nothing. Perfect eventually wins 11-0 and brags to Hogan that to be World Champion you have to be perfect in every way, and that's why they call him (Curt) Mr. Perfect. I loved these things. Now thats perfect.

- The Twin Towers (w/ Slick) vs. Chuck Coates & Dennis Burke:
One of the final televised matches of Big Boss Man & Akeem as a tag team, especially in jobber matches. Boss Man has his trusty nightstick as well as a ball & Chain draped across his shoulder. Akeem and Coates start the match as we get an Insert Promo from Rick Martel & Honky Tonk Man who proceed to kiss the asses of Boss Man & Akeem. Akeem hammers on Coates with a series of forearms and whips him to the corner. Akeem whips Boss Man into Coates and avalanches Boss Man into Coates again to make him flat. Boss Man locks up with Burke and hammers away on him with rights. Irish whip and Boss Man connects with a back elbow. Choke across the second rope and Boss Man bounces off the ropes and connects with a sit down splash across the back. Akeem tags in with axe-handle smashes and tags back out to Boss Man. Irish whip and Burke is planted with the Boss Man Slam at 1:46. * I'm a Twin Towers mark, so sue me again. After the match Akeem takes out Coates while Boss Man puts the ball and chain on Burke. Boss Man roughs him up with the nightstick and Akeem squashes him with the Air Africa/747 Splash for added effect. I'm marking out of course.

- More from the Event Center with Sean Mooney. This time we get promos from Haku & Bobby Heenan(Haku's opponent is Tito Santana) and followed by "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, who sounds like he's actually trying to cut a good promo on "Ravishing" Rick Rude. Of course, the event is November 19th from the Hartford Civic Center, which includes the following matches: The Bushwackers vs. The Bolsheviks, Red Rooster vs. Honky Tonk Man, Tito Santana vs. Haku, Demolition vs. Powers Of Pain, Dusty Rhodes vs. Big Boss Man, and Roddy Piper vs. Rick Rude in a Lumberjack Match.

- Next Week On Superstars Of Wrestling...The Powers Of Pain will be in action. On The Brother Love Show will be The King's Court. Also in Action "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, and "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, as well as a special Survivor Series Report. And in a feature match, The Brain Busters defend the Tag Team Titles against Demolition. Promos from both teams follow. Sadly I don't have this episode, but I will soon.

Coming Up Next...November 18th, 1989 Episode of Superstars of Wrestling!

-November 18th, 1989 Superstars Of Wrestling:

- As usual, the hosts of Superstars are Vince McMahon & Jesse "The Body Ventura. On the Brother Love Show will be The Hulkamaniacs. Also In Action..."Ravishing" Rick Rude, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, The Bolsheviks, and more!

- Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake vs. Scott Colton:
They lockup and Beefcake with a shove off to the corner. Insert Promo from The Enforcers, who threaten Beefcake that he won't be cutting any more hair. Lockup again and Beefcake shoves Colton to the canvas. Colton gets in a little of his jobber offense but Beefcake puts him down with a running high knee. Beefcake snapmares Colton back into the ring and scoop slams him back down. Beefcake with rights and whips Colton to the ropes, and applies the sleeper hold! Good Night Scott Colton at 1:58. 1/2* Nothing squash. Beefcake does a little trim afterwards.

- Brought to you from the pages of WWF Magazine, is an official update. We go back to Superstars last week for the Ultimate Warrior & Dino Bravo push-up challenge. The Fat guy (named only as John) sits on Warrior and squashes him like a bug allowing Bravo to lay a shit kicking in on him. We then follow with a promo from Bravo, Jimmy Hart, and the mysterious "John". He'd be known soon enough as The Canadian Eartquake by the next week.

- "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Warren Bianchi:
I'm really not liking Rude's squash matches. Not only was he a mediocre at best wrestler, but he doesn't even look like he's trying. Anyway, Rude hammers on Bianchi and slams him down. Rude connects with a fist drop as we get an Insert Promo from Bobby Heenan, who is mad Roddy Piper is on the cover of WWF Magazine. Rude rams Bianchi to the buckle and connects with a knee lift. After a bit of posing Rude nails the Rude Awakening for three at 1:15. DUD After the match Rude brings in some chick and gives it to her.

- Live from the Event Center is Sean Mooney to continue the pimping of November 19th. We get promos from "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (who still has the nightstick) and Honky Tonk Man, who continues to insult the Red Rooster. It's like shooting fish in a barrel at this point.

- Rick "The Model" Martel comes onto a podium to do some modeling of a Trenchcoat and hat. Lord Alfred Hayes sounds like a complete dork trying to sound like he cares and overall, this is a waste of time in my humble opinion.

- Jim "The Anvil" Niedhart vs. Unknown Jobber:
They lockup and Anvil shoves the Jobber down several times. Insert Promo by NO ONE for once. The Jobber wit an overhead wrist lock followed by some punching. Niedhart applies a headlock and puts the Jobber down with a shoulder block. Niedhart with an arm drag followed by another shoulder block. Jobber with an armbar and Niedhart hammers him in the face to break. Anvil hammers on the Jobber with rights and bites away on his forehead. Irish whip to the corner and Anvil plants him with a powerslam for three at 1:52. 3/4* No after-the-match activities. :(

- Back to the Event Center and this time we get The Bushwackers, who sound like they were watching Chappelle's imitation of Lil John 15 years before it happend. They will be facing The Bolshevik in a battle of suck. Followed up is another Rick Rude promo on Roddy Piper. Remember, November 19th! Hartford Civic Center! Be There!

- The Bolsheviks vs. Red Tyler & Unknown Jobber:
Since the announcer doesn't even bother to introduce the Jobbers, they will be known as #1 and #2 like they are the Conquistadors/Shadows/Other Masked Team. The Bolsheviks get an Insert Promo in their own match as Boris Zhukov hammers away on #1. Zhukov with a whip into the buckle followed by a headbutt. Jobber #2 tags in and Zhukov with a back suplex. Volkoff tags in to boot the Jobber of #2 and connects with a double under-hook suplex followed by a gut-wrench suplex. Zhukov comes in with a clothesline to the back of the neck in honor of Outback Jack and that gets the three count at 1:28. * Well it was short and inoffensive.

- The Survivor Series 1989 Report! Brought to you by "Mean" Gene Okerlund. He runs down the rules of Survivor Series. Elimination occurs via pinfall, submission, count-out, and disqualification. The match doesn't end until all members of one team are eliminated. The Card Includes:
The Hulkmaniacs (Hulk Hogan, Jake Roberts, Demolition) vs. The Million Dollar Team (Ted Dibiase, Zeus, Powers Of Pain)
The Warriors (Ultimate Warrior, Jim Niedhart, The Rockers) vs. The Heenan Family (Andre The Giant, Haku, The Brain Busters)
The Dream Team (Dusty Rhodes, Brutus Beefcake, Tito Santana, Red Rooster) vs. The Enforcers (Big Boss Man, Akeem, Rick Martel, Honky Tonk Man)
Roddy's Rowdies (Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka, Bushwackers) vs. The Rude Brood (Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, The Fabulous Rougeau's)
The 4x4's (Jim Duggan, Bret Hart, Hercules, Ronnie Garvin) vs. The Kings Court (Randy Savage, Dino Bravo, The Widow Maker, Greg Valentine)

- One Final Event Center update for the show that was suppose to happen on the next night. Promos from the Powers of Pain who will challenge the New Tag Team Champions, Demolition. We then get another Roddy Piper promo. Talk about over-kill...

Final Thoughts: It's weird seeing these shows 15 years later. Although they usually meant nothing, it would include some quick matches with some good action, and sometimes the stars stiffing the hell out of some jobbers. God I wish the Steiner Brothers were around this time. No real way to rate these, but It's nice to see for nostalgia purposes. Automatic Thumbs Up.
