eStragand.com launches Value Stamp Program (no cash value)
Denver- December 31, 2004-
The eStragand Corporation held a press conference today to announce the
unveiling of their new eStragand.com Value Stamp Program (no cash value).
"You may call it an unveiling, but we prefer the more pro-active e-verb of
UNLEASHING" said the eStragand PR Lackey. The Lackey then left to
return his rented tux before the hour was up.
The New eStragand.com Value Stamp Program (no cash value) will begin immediately. Basically,
it's a scavenger hunt or contest for visitors to the website. Scattered throughout the site are
several "Value Stamps". Their location is hidden to the general public, and the
locations will CHANGE every so often. When a viewer locates a Value Stamp, he/she is expected
to "Right Click n' Save" the stamp to their computer. The images are harmless
GIF's and JPG's. No spy-ware or mailicious intentions.
When a user has collected a pre-determined amount of unique Value Stamps, they will
be able to redeem them for Prizes From the eStragand Prize Bowels. Initially,
TEN (10) unique Value Stamps are already seeded throughout the website. Every page throughout
the site could potentially have a Value Stamp. The idea for vierers is to
find and collect all 10 Value Stamps. In fact, your FIRST Value Stamp (no cash value)
is located on THIS page.
The idea is to increase traffic and readers through the entire eStragand.com website.
With the dynamic placement and nature of the Value Stamps, the hope is that
readers will venture into areas that they ordinarily would not. Obviously based
off of Marvel Comics'
old 1970's "Marvel Value Stamps", it's an effort to put a small amount of mild
"collectablity" througout the site.
The program works like this: Steve McGillifuck is a regular visitor to eStragand.com.
Steve clicks on a page and notices a strange "Value stamp" offset to the right of the
text. Steve right-clicks and saves this image to his computer. Steve returns to eStragand.com
a few hours later. Steve notices a different "Value Stamp". Steve right-clicks and saves this
image as well. A few weeks down the road, Steve visits eStragand.com and notices a
announcement regarding a SPECIAL PRIZE for viewers with all ten stamps.
The first viewer to respond to the prize annoucement (via email: "valuestamps@estragand.com")
will be the winner. At that point, the Value Stamp contest resets and everyone starts over until
the next prize announcement. Since only ONE winner is selected at a time, the prize will
be somewhat tailored to your favorite section of the website.
Old habit of eStragand promos: for instance, if
you dig rasslin', you'll receive something related to rasslin'. If you dig baseball,
you'll receive something related to baseball.
Periodically, NEW Value Stamps will be added. The ensuing prize announcement will
require an increase in the number of unique Value Stamps (like...20).
To summarize, here's what you may want to do:
- Click around and find all 10 Value Stamps
- Save 'em
- Return to eStragand.com for the Special Value Stamp Prize Annoucement
Sound neat? Well, even if it doesn't, get clicking, bunky! Find n' collect all 10 Value Stamps,
and SCORE! You can amaze your friends (and potentially other normal people as well)!!
The Stamps are kinda' fun, in and of themselves, anyways.
The attending crowd at the press conference was
rather thrilled and admired the mylar balloons.
Colorado Governor Bill Owens was on hand and stated: "This proves that Colorado is a
dynamic, interactive and exciting state, with generally nice weather".
